i now have only a white tail tag left

My hunting is done for this year.I tagged a Mulie,a whitetail,and my Rosie Elk draw on the island.My boys 11 and 13 tagged 3 Mulies and 2 bull moose(leh).I have to buy another freezer.I have to say this has been a memorable year.

Haven't had much time to hunt due to work this year, but I have managed to get one nice bear, a yote and a few grouse.

Season starts tomorrow for me, going to try for a moose with my buddy and his LEH, and I've got 2 weeks to chase little Pemberton blacktails...:wink:

I stuck a nice 5x5 whitetail in velvet opening day of bow season (Sept 1st).

The Wife(tm) put a .308 bullet in a goregous 5x6 whitetail about a month later (biggest deer either of us have ever shot)


Oh, and we've both shot a few grouse in the head with the 308 here and there along the way.


Nothing left but mule deer, or failing that, the wife and I will go arrow a couple of whitetail does in late bow season to finish off filling the freezer. (I wish everything was as easy to hunt as whitetails.) :)

Well I cut a bear tag this spring, filled 3 mule deer tags in October in region 5 & 7 (LEH muley doe and two meat bucks) still have a moose, elk, and bear tag open. Did manage to bag a yote that trip as well.

With a trip out to 8-15 planned for the end of the week there's a chance I could add to the years tally for Deer, and I have yet to shoulder my shotgun for Ducks or Geese. been out on one deer hunt nada. been out with one of the hounds to check for bears nada so far but my season has not really begun yet, cant wait for the snow to fall so i can start working the hounds :biggrin: for me takeing the animal is not the enjoyable part , it is the thrill of the chase or being able to call them in that is what i enjoy . As long as i see my intended prey I am happy.

I have been trying for what I call an elusive mulie and am running out of time! I can't find a deer to save my life but I'll keep my feet moving and figure it out eventually.
