Well his boar came up to my back door. Can't have that. Cut a tag. A tall skinny 4 year old. Hanging in my shop right now. Normally they don't come out till the middle of may. Will be processed tomorrow.

Congrats! I'd love that size for my first bear - it should be delicious!

How do you like to process your spring bruin?

Hmm congrads Tiggr..absolutely concurr on your decision and all the legitimate reasons..certainly shows the effects of many months of no eating.
Are there any dandelions showing up out there yet.
Well done.

Nope can't have bears knocking on your door. What a nice surprise and excellent work!

This will be mainly ground for different sausages. I will save some hams for my smoke house trials. I am even looking at the belly for a bacon trial. This is the skinniest bear I have ever shot. But this bear has been around here before and I fear for the betterhalf out working in the yard. It stood near 40 inches tall. We had muddy foot prints on our basement door. One less moose calf and deer fawn killer.
Got to buy another tag now.
Yup the dandelions are sprouting. Usually the bears come out when the grass if 6 inches tall. It is barely 2 inches tall. But this guy was hungry.
