Well guess who got the LEH instead of the hairy-chested hunters? Yep. Went to 5-03 to zippermouth mtn. and camped at "snow" camp.I It snowed on us there in Sept. a few years back.First night we decided to drive two areas in separate vehicles with My buddy's wife (momma) in the truck with her mate, just to scout around, mostly for deer. I told them not to follow me for half an hour because it was too light yet. Sure enough, just before dark they raced into camp screaming about a moose. She dropped it with a 45/70 at 70 yards. Luckily it was 10 feet above the road so we backed his truck in and used my 1000 pound chain hoist to drag him in. (Sound easy? It took almost two hours--no damn tailgate on his truck!) Sure enough it started to snow so we hung him up and cleaned him onto a tarp in camp--then took the remains far away. Tons of fat on this guy. 10 by 12 points plus 4 spikes out front. He was old. the meat is unbelievable. The very best ever. Will try to post if she gives the OK (says 5 AM is not good for looks) (Yup. Took that long in the snow.)

Sorry about the antler description. He had about 10-12 points TOTAL. His palms are very thin at the edges and the brow tines are flattened and thin. A sign of age. (Just found some pics)

Good going. I've not even seen a moose this year except on the site!!!

Looks like a nice 3-4 yr old. Meat should be fine stuff.

We estimate her moose to be about 750 lbs. A big mother! Butcher shop stripped down weight was 520 lbs.
