Thunderbird is correct, was owned by a German meteorologist, also had a beautiful place on the N Bonaparte Rd near Bridge Lake. He had some troubles and left the country some time ago.

I remember thunderbird. My Parents looked into buying it in the early 90's. Was around $120,000 then. Bonaparte resort was the one I was looking for. But if its not a resort any more then that would explain why I cant find it. I have not been out there much in the last 20 years. Looking to go hunting out there in late October.

Stayed at Bonaparte Resort in the early 80s and we stumbled into a few moose (open season then). My favourite uncle used to fish that lake a lot and took some big trout out of it. Pretty country last time I was there.

I was up there last October on the west side at the Rec site and I saw a bunch of lights on. Not sure if it was just a big ass house or resort

I thought I seen it up for sale just last year? I believe it ran until 2002 then shut down.

If you haven't been up there since the 80's you are in for quite the surprise. They salvage logged the piss out of that area when the pine beetle came through. Some valleys don't have a tree left standing. Pretty desolate. Still the odd moose hanging around and the fishing is pretty decent. Deer everywhere up there in the summer, then they migrate out first week of October
