My buddy got this one towards the end of September; He was hunting for two weeks. I thought this one was worth posting. Here's his story:

Check out this big bugger. Our weather was the shits too. The moose weren't rutting until the last night. At about 11:30 pm I woke up in the tent and heard the first moose grunt of the entire trip. I got up and woke my dad up. I went to the lake edge and grunted back and forth with him to keep him in the area for the night so we could get up and hunt him in the morning. Woke up the next morning before light and started cow calling and grunting, but no response so I woke my dad up. We went across the lake, I put my dad up on a hill over looking a meadow and I walked into the bush to an opening deeper back in the trees. About 45 minutes later I came to the opening and saw him 200 yards out. Cow called him into position and then put the hurt on him. It was a "bloodbath in paradise". The pack out was hell! Saw lots of goats but didn't go after them.

I'm not sure which region but I know he was in the Dease lake region. Tough hunt. Just a sleeping with bag with a bivy sack and a light tent is all they had for shelter. He said there was some really heavy rain for a couple of days. It was a fly in hunt so they had to pack light.

that is one serious bull! you need to be looking at a rack like that to power yourself through the chore of gutting, quartering and packing that critter.

Yeah! He said it took him until 8:00 at night to finish gutting, quartering deboning and packin him out of the bush. I'd do it without hesitation for a bull like that. It's all part of the experience.

I didn't ask him the stats yet. I'll try and get some more info on the beast for you all tomorrow. All I know is he was 57" wide.
