Anyone replaced a recoil pad on a sako laminate? Does it require cutting the factory installed and drilling screw holes for the Limbsaver?

Yes I believe you have to cut it off they are glued on

Hopefully guntech, greydog or GEF reply.
I do know that if there aren't screws then it will be glued with pins in the stock. You can pull the pins which will leave holes for screws...

My Sako deluxe had a glued pad. When you cut it off you may find the stock is hollowed out. That requires a large dowel to be glued in to fill the void to allow the screws on a new pad to attach to..

I just re-glued a limbsaver where I pried the old one off. That was on a kodiak in .375 H&H. 60 rounds latter and a bunch rides in a gun boot and its still on there.
