Well I took the next 2 days off work to try and find me an immature moose in 3-12. I'm off to the races early in the am and probably wont come home until halloween. I packed my tent

Moose is the main target, big mulie and bruiser bear are secondary. I'll probably get skunked...

I hope your tent is set up inside a cabin, the weather has been pretty sucky. Best of luck.

Don't shoot the calf I saw on Sunday with the 2 inch velvet nubs - he won't be considered a "bull" until next year! 8)

Good luck!

I saw your pics Mark, I'm from Kelowna too....... nice moose ya shot and good story. It's cool to read some success stories from places I've been going to since the 80's. Brings back memories of my own as I grew up here. And good score with the blonde that likes hunting........didn't know they still existed in this town.......musta picked her up at the Ok Coral?lol8-)

Well I'm back... Saw lot's of moose, 2 cows and 5 bulls. One looked like a 2X3 but after getting closer and having a good long look turned out ot be a 3X3... The others were bigger, one was a monster with too many points to counts (especially at 40 yards when he did not seem too pleased with the stalk I put on him...).

I ended up taking a freezer mulie high in the hills and had a 3.5 to 40 km hike down to the truck. My new Eberlestock J104 came in handy as I packed the meat out in one trip. I was pooped, must be getting old...

Pretty long shot, lasered at 297 yards. Bang-flop with the .300 WM.

Pictures when after my nap...

Been trying to post pics for a few days, for a guy who used to be a computer consultant I'm doing rather poorly... Did the exact same thing tonight as the other times and here they are.

The little guy.

The red spot is an X where he was shot, I laid on that rock.

Here is the Eberlestock pack on my old back... Yes it is a Tilley on my head.

The pack with the meat compartment expanded and filled.

Total pack weight was around 72 pounds. Rifle, camera, bino's were extra. I've got to stop hunting by myself, I guess I should work on making some friends...

I'm determined to do a goat hunt before I'm 50, only 2 years to befriend someone and plan a great trip!
