When up hunting in the EK this Sept. I put about 50 pounds of meat in a two foot x two foot zip lock bag. It stayed in the creek for 6 days. I had a thermometer that had a prop sensor on the end ,i put it in the creek for 3 minutes ,then looked at the temperature ,it read 40 degrees or 4 C. The meat was just like the day i carved it off when taken to the butcher.http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif
