part 1 hi i am 14 + this is my first moose! this took place in prince george area 7. so my dad and i were driving down the road into a cutblock, when we spotted a cow! (i had a cow LEH) we hopped out of the truck + when i slid my clip into my 30-06 Parker-Hale + closed the bolt it ran up the road + into the bush. we walked in a bit and heard it calling, so we went in a bit farther. we then heard "sploosh! sploosh!" then a big splash. we walked in a bit farther

part 2 into some really swampy crap, complete with 4 foot deep muddy trenches. we came thru to a swamp with the moose swimming around in circles. after 3 minutes or so, it headed toward the edge. as soon as it stepped out i shot it behind the shoulder thru the lungs, from 70 yards, broadside. i pounded another bullet into its lungs, and it died, no killshot needed. we walked over (15 mins :O ) and i cut my tag. we then spent 4 hours getting it out in halves. 2 days l8r, coming back early

That sucks bigtime! My first moose we almost lost to a grizz... he came in as we started gutting it and we decided to leave given it was getting dark. We came back with lights and saved it, but the grizz had pulled this big log up onto it and pulled grass and stuff over it. Thankfully no pee. Still it is a great experience! Congratulations, and good going to wait for it to step out of the swamp!
