Congrats!!!

But I didnt think it was advisable to shoot slugs on a full choke? Was I misinformed?

Congrats!!!

But I didnt think it was advisable to shoot slugs on a full choke? Was I misinformed?,,,,,,yup its fine,,,,,,foster slugs or some people call them rifled slugs are fine to shoot through full choke,,,,,,,the purpose of the "rifling" on the slugs is so they can basically mold to the diameter of the bore when being discharged,,,,,sabot slugs on other hand do not compress,,,,sabot is a solid,,,,but if you take a close look at a foster slug,,,it is in fact a hollow projectile,,,,so it is able to compress,,,,,,,i also use the foster slugs out of a 1968 fixed full choke,,(goose gun),,,and they shoot just fine also

Should be fine with any lead slug. I think less constriction "can" be better for accuracy, but if it's shooting accurately no need to switch it up

Love the shotgun hunt! I did it a couple years starting out when all I had was a mossberg 500, never harvested anything with it, but sometimes I get the itch to just take the old girl and try again

i use the 12 gauge alot for alot of my deer hunts,,,,,,the terrain i do alot of hunting in is fairly thick brush,,,,,,using foster slugs cuts through the brush nicely
