Or even a percussion8)?

Nope, not yet. I will be tuning my traditional percussion Hawken up for late season Whities pretty soon!

I have killed a couple mulie doe`s and a bear with my 50 cal. flinter

I have killed several whitetail bucks with my 50 cal. A couple of nice one even.

The jet of flame from the muzzle!
I am seriously considering taking the flintlock plunge in 2008 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Simon Fraser's jaunt down the river. Now that our dollar is favourable vis a vis the US dollar, I can finally afford to order from the US. And finish making my new knife and horn as well.
I would sell my T/C Hawken outfit and start afresh!
Probably another .50, I think.

double trigger .54 Hawken with 230 grain patched round balls
So far it's taken a fat 3x3 muley @100
2x2 whitey @ 150
nice cinnamon bear @ 80
I love the way you can almost hear the bullet whistling thru the air and that delayed smack.
