How's the rut activity where you are? Has it peaked? Hasn't really been cold yet...

I wouldn’t say peaked here in Kamloops....but have seen more movement from the bigger guys....some with their noses right where you’d expect them to be. I think it’ll be heightened by the end of this week even.

Region 3 from Wednesday to this last Sunday. Seen lots of does but no bucks near by except this one two point young buck. I thought there would be more action. Fresh snow everyday and cold.
would a buck be interested in a doe if she has a fawn? I wasn’t sure.

Mule deer rut is on here in the North Peace — maybe not the "peak" yet.

Last 4 days, lots of musty snow in the deer beds. Haven't even seen much for dinkers around the groups of ladies.

Rut is on around Kamloops.

I have numerous pictures of bucks tailing does and with their nose up their ass in the last 10 days.

first bucks trailing and harassing I spotted were on November 3rd, mind you I’ve been out everyday in November.

also OP you mention “it hasn’t got cold yet”. Just a heads up the cold has sweet eff all to do with the rut lol that’s almost as funny as hearing the guys who road hunt say “ oh boy they must not be rutting this year !”

its light cycle dependant not weather.

Thanks for calling me out on that, was always told it was a combination. Found a few articles on it too. This one seems good?

So...interesting site.

The recent SIMDeer update mentioned fawns hitting the ground here in June.

The article says "Date of fawn drop minus 205 days"

So, if you count forward from November 16 and go 205 days you get....June 9.

I'm heading out again this weekend, the 21st, so if I get lucky and pop a buck that's just dismounted, then according to this system his....orphan is probably the right term....will drop June 14.

Clearly I should have been paying more attention to that damn webinar!

Seen a large 3 point mounting a doe in R 3 last weekend. Also saw a few smaller bucks chasing tail. Seemed like pre rut action. Should be getting good now I would assume. Saw 8 bucks last weekend. Two shooters but couldn't make it happen.
