Our crew is headed to 7-27 for leh moose but we have a day to burn in Vanderhoof. Anybody know where we could set up camp and hunt for a day?

Many thanks

Mike

Take a look in a backroad mapbook. It is as easy as that. Good luck

Bobtail is halfway between PG and Vanderhoof. There's lots of gravel pits to camp in. Lots of mule deer, grouse, and a great chance for spike fork bull moose.

When passing through Vanderhoof, Stop in at Nechako Outdoors! It is worth the stop. Many specials, and very helpful staff! Moosin

Me & 2 buddies had an LEH south of the 'hoof' 2018. Can't help with camping close to Vanderhoof, we were on a lake a good 1.5 hours out of town. But we had a great breakfast at this wooden lodge restaurant.... Second the advice on popping in to Nechako.

I would suggest the above mentioned tip about purchasing the Backroads Mapbook ! They are great and if there is a specific area in the book you are interested in you can get the page in the book blown up to a more detailed scale .
