Hi!
I am going for some vacation and wine testing with wife to Oliver. Taking dog and a shotgun, just in case. Any suggestion which direction to have a walk for some birds? I heard up to the ski hill road? Don't want honey holes, just some general pointers.
thanks!

That’s where I would go. Tons of FSRs to walk up towards Baldy.

Go to Vaseux lake and test your skills against the Chukars.
Drive up high, hunt the cliff edges and ledges.

Shooting upland game flying downhill below your feet, not a normal feeling.... :)

Grouse honey holes? Head up Mount Baldy. Seen some up there before. At least there are some back roads up there. Seen some mulies and moose up there as well.

Very wet spring, haven't been seeing a lot of grouse yet.

Also seen em above Fairview area. There are a few roads off the main fsr that are worth a "shot". Lower down may run into the odd quail, though I haven't seen many on public land.
