Just came back from a moose hunt. There wasn't much action...weather wasn't cooperating , but after a week of chase finally got one. Here is a video of a post "shot" actions.......for entertainment only...

this one is of logistics before dragging it out.

this of butchering...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlY-LqiYCXs

The story is... we ventured into this cut late morning .... looked for sign and called in strategic points. On the way out my friend spited a bull ate the bottom of the cut at the edge of the swamp. Quickly we moved close to the the area against the wind and called for the rest of the day with no result. Next morning we came back. My friend went back to the edge of the swamp to call and I scouted the rest of the area. At the end I ended up at the top of the cut by the big timber. I noticed some fresh sign, so I found good canceled spot and started calling. It didn't take 5 mins when I heard first grunt back from the forest.... it quickly became more rhythmic .....it was coming from my right - direction of the wind- I moved to that direction and rested on the stump....lifted my head up and noticed set of antlers moving steadily towards me.....could not be more than 50 yards. Obviously he wanted to get the scent of me....I waited for him to clear the stump to have clear shot ....and bang!....he stood up with his head up staring at me....I stood up as well faced him and let another one go....he fell ....and the rest is in the movies.

That's why they skinned it after they dragged it out of the woods... I bet it'll be clean as a whistle and delcious!

.....
Don't know what you arte talking about....Meat was great...very little damage due to both shoots close to each other....right shoulder blade was nicked and couple of ribs busted. None of the bullets went through...(300WSM at roughly 20 yards). We had liver for dinner......
Some pix of processing and post processing.....we had fire going through the night due to history of big hungry furry critters coming in....

How long until you finally gutted? How many hours? How may beer? A bull that size you're lucky didn't sour or maybe did. Would have dragged much easier with guts out, antlers and forelegs removed. I'd be embaressed to post a video like this but each to their own. Regardless looks like you had a nice party!

Meat sour...?? Shot after 9am, gutted by noon, skinned and quartered by 3pm....
Easier to drag with guts out and head off....?? You don't know what you are talking about ....it would turn into dirt bucket!
How many beers??? What ? You sound like my wife..
Embarrassed ...??? of honest victory celebration after week long hard hunt....?? Phewww!! You should be embarrassed of posting unreasonable suggestions ....
We were back in the field by 5 pm.....
Hunt hard - Play hard!

I've never seen guys process as much as you did in your camp photos. interesting. I agree with hauling it out hole though, keeps it cleaner for sure. I'm impressed with the makeshift log skid. I've towed moose with a double up quad setup before but not as long as you guys did. well done.

Nice bull. It looked like fun.

Don't get me wrong, and it is just a suggestion, but the time it took to drag it out, load on trailer you could have had the quarters bagged and loaded on separate quads, and ribs and neck on another. Looks like you had enough guys, quads, and trip out would have been faster, easier. You guys needs game bags and hang the spoils in the tree and sleep good without a worry of critters getting your kill.

We just did a smaller one last week, 5x5, 2.5 hrs ordeal, cut an bagged. I now carry a cordless recip saw for the bone cutting, light and quick, not as much mess.

Love the Videos! Thanks for Posting,
Makes me think about my early days of Elk hunting how we did things compared to how we do it now. I would like to have been with you guys that day!
Cheers

I'd like to see the butchering video for some learning purposes - I think OP has link #2 and #3 as the same video....

you're welcome, and thanks for fixing it. Nice to have lots of help! When we got ours on a group hunt two years ago I didn't know that my new hunting partners had never cleaned a deer without help let alone a moose. Gave me a chance to dive right in, but wish I could have been able to watch someone do it live rather than just on videos.
