We are headed up to 7-27 for LEH moose and have 1 extra day we need to burn somewhere on our way up North. All Island boys so no idea on where to spend a day hunting deer on the way up.

We will be running HWY 99 and hooking up to 97 just North of Cache Creek, so looking for somewhere to spend a day off HWY 97 or even west of Prince George off HWY 16 where us blacktail guys might actually get into a white tail or muley.

Any help is very much appreciated

Cheers

Mike

I'd hunt somewhere between Clinton and McLeese Lake, otherwise you're just wasting your time

Thats kinda a crap shoot but close to the highway I would say head onto the Bonaparte plateau - theres the Scotty Creek FSR right turn just past cache creek. Lots of areas to drive through. I havent been there in a while but I pulled a couple of deer out of there in the past.

I think a lot of that burned up in the Elephant Hill fire a couple years ago.

Ya it’s burnt. It needs more time . You might still get some morels out in the spring. Other then that it’s a waste land

Burnt to crisp! However, 2 nice bucks were taken from that burn, just months after that fire started! Know where to look and guess what...…..!

That’s like half of BC. I’d say pick a spot somewhere between the two and go into the bush.
