We always hit the A&W on our way through Cache Creek. Not exactly fine dining, but hits the spot!

We stopped at the diner last year on the way thru Cache Creek, super friendly and large meals, and super tasty after 12 days in the bush.

We have stopped at the Cariboo Lodge in Clinton for lunch several times and the food was always good. The diner in Cache Creek was good as well.

Mannie's (or spelt Manny's?)
Right beside the local watering hole (dive bar) in Cache Creek.

Great Pizza's and the Lamb is awesome.
Manny passed away a couple years ago, but his partner has continued on the tradition and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
He used to do the cooking at the Sandman there, but then left to start his own place.
(they try to replicate his lamb at the motel, but it isn't the same, imo)

As for Herbies, I have to disagree.
Costs a lot for what you get and nothing stellar, at least not 2 years ago, after eating there twice.

Now our group enjoys hitting Manny's, and if you get the pizza, you have lunch for the next days hunt.
Either eat in the restaurant or sit next door at the bar.
BUT, dont expect to see much hanging around in there to look at!!!

Anyways, just thought i would give them a recommendation as we eat there all the time now, and everyone is happy.
Wasnt the case before at some of the other locales around there.

Hungry herbies was one of the worst places I ever ate. Last time we drove thru, My wife made the comment about it not being fit to feed the dogs.

I'm no food snob, but I found Hungry Herbies to be gross. November 2019

Interesting, I havent been to Herbies in a while, probably 5-7 years ago. Did it change owners and nose dived? It was great the few times I was there a few years ago.

Not sure if he is open into the fall but Harold moved his fish and chips stand from Wells to Clinton, would be worth a look, it should be set up at the Clinton RV Park behind the school.

Hungry Herbies has great food, burgers and fish and chips are great, and if you want a more dinning out feel go to Bear Claw just over bridge on right going north next to
Gas station, decent rooms also, stayed and ate there many times

Bring one home for the wife after ****ing off for a weekend and all is forgiven ;)17.99 for a pie and it is not even baked yet. We were there a week ago and picked up 3 mini YELLOW watermelons. 5.00 for 3. They are sweeter than the red watermelons. The pies are not made by Horstings. They are made in a factory.

Horsting's used to be good when it was owned by a Horsting. When Ted sold the business it went down hill. Everything was grown, harvested, and prepared in house. Now, not so much. Eat there if you will, but it ain't what it used to be.
I'm usually focused on getting as many miles behind me as quickly as I can, so a quick A&W is good enough for Cache Creek if required.

In Cache Creek, our new stop is Anies. Pretty good pizza, and we always buy a few loaves of multigrain bread. It used to be that the Cariboo Lodge was top shelf, but haven’t stopped for years. It’s sure changed since I hung around there 35 years ago.

hungry herbies has been a landmark there since the the 60's i believe, if your standards are what you are use to in the big city then you may not be as happy but if you want a good burger and fries they are great. Try the MONSTER burger , its a giant sloppy burger but gooood to the last knuckle lick!

I'm always suspicious of buffets. Even at higher end places. I would be really suspicious of an RV park buffet. :)

I've driven past that sign lots of times and never been brave enough to investigate. :)

Agreed on that...it was junk last time we ate there...25 years ago I ran a ginseng farm outside of Savona and Herbies was decent back then but now... is as said... junk

Hungry Herbies is a classic throwback. If you haven't been it's worth hitting.

Cafe Cordial in Clinton is shut down I believe.

Horstings is a must stop for me whenever I go through. Their bread alone is amazing. Always pick up a loaf or two on the way home. The pies are great as well!

Haven’t been at HORSTING’S Farm restaurant/market just north of CC, for quite some time but it use to be our favourite place to stop for the excellent meals & groceries +!
