Predator Hunt Canada's annual predator contest is underway folks. Last year it was a smashing success with many great prizes drawn and a trophy awarded to the top point total.

Please feel free to enter your pics of any of the predators you have shot on your big game hunts on or after Oct 15th. There is a link to last years contest on the old server in the first post of the contest thread. You can also find last season's prizes on that forum also. The forum is closed but please come join our new site on this server.

Good luck on the rest of your hunting season folks!!

PS, members please check if you were drawn for a prize on the old server. There is still a couple unclaimed.

Good one tracker. Ive wondered how 'fur-freindly ' a TSX would be in my .243. How was the damage from your shot ?

Ya thats the point not a "soft ball size hole "and the 130 gr tsx is fur friendly as boxhitch would like to know!!!:biggrin: less hide sewing.

Good bullet for everything from large game to small

Sure, but if you wait for an ethical angle, for an ethical shot placement, an ethical bullet should result in .......whatelse?...........an ethical kill.

todbartell
10-22-2007, 12:24 PM
broadside behind the shoulder with a 243 is pretty ethical :)

Derek_Erickson
10-22-2007, 12:27 PM
Very ethical shot, I'd say, dont shoot unless its broadside, hundred yards, very unethical to shoot any further than a hundred yards coyotes are just to skinny, high chance of missing!.....................................:-x:shock:

todbartell

I'd argue that, if you are confident in making the kill, shooting one at 200,300, or 400 yards isnt out of the norm. 100 yards is pretty close for a shot on a coyote :) hell, I'd shoot at one @ 500 yards. Ask a coyote how it feels about ethics when its ripping the guts out of a live fawn or calf :)

Derek_Erickson

Thats what I was getting at, I dont think its unethical to shoot at a coyote at any range to tell you the truth, pound lead, thats what they're there for!

You guys are an embarrassment to Yote hunters...:-x

Even Wiley Coyote deserves a quick and humane end, that doesn't mean having it's leg shot off at 500 meters by some sniper:rolleyes:

Just thought I'd bump this thread. I see that some more predators have been taken by HBC members.

Wildcat Composites have donated one of their stocks to our contest matched to the winners' rifle model. This is a great prize and all you need is to enter one predator to be in the draw.

Good luck.

Another one hits the dirt!!!!

I used the 7mm mag on this one with 160 grain tsx's bigger exit hole than the 270 wsm but never blew him apart,,,,
