5-1 November 1-15 Any Bull Moose draw question

Hi,
I got a moose draw for 5- 1.
It's an area I know pretty well, but Ive never hunted moose there this late.

Heres my question. How would you hunt this draw ?

Look for feed and cover?- then sit and wait quietly...?

Or look for feed and cover then call/thrash a bit?
other ways of connecting??

Have you ever found bulls responding to calls that late?

good question RJ- we have a place at green lake so I’m going to stay in the SW corner

The moose populations aren't all that great in 5-1 these days but they are there in pockets. We still see a few during the rut every year but the November hunt is a tough one. We normally just cover ground and focus on feed as they should be just starting to pack on fat for the winter. Red willows, running water, cover.. find those and with a little bit of luck you will cross paths with a bull. As for calling, I have had moose come into calls as late as halloween but they are always the smaller bulls looking to get in on the action after the breeders have done their part. Stick to cow calls and avoid bull calls.

Stay close to the burn... I am hearing there is a few in there and lots of good vegetation. Neighbour got one in the pressy/Jim lake area burn over the weekend. Make sure to post a picture and story if ya hammer one.
