Am I the only one that sees more mule deer than white tails? I’ve seen 1 white tail for every 5 mile deer. Is it just because the mule deer are braver and have no fear venturing out on farms?

How come mule deer have more strict limits in both 7a and 7b MUs?

Whitetail are definitely “smarter”, and even in areas that are rich in whitetail, I usually see more mule deer too. I don’t think mule deer are any braver, maybe a touch less spooky?

White tail reproduce much more quickly.

White tail are largely nocturnal in pressured areas and move at night even in deep bush. Any trail cam will back this up. There is no doubt they will show themselves far less than any mule deer. Mule deer does seem to have no fear of being out in the open at any hour.

This....and as previously mentioned, WT breed at a quicker rate than MD...

I'm willing to bet that there are probably more whitetail in BC now than mule deer. They are just a lot more resilient to hunting pressure and keep out of sight. Mule deer numbers seem to be way down in some of the areas I hunt and I keep finding white tails and sign in areas I've never found them before.

You don't have to go back too many years on this site to hear from guys that would swear there are very few if ANY, WT around Kamloops. That never comes up anymore it seems.
