When you apply for a hunting licence in BC there is a question asking if your a bow hunter, don't they ask that anymore?

I'm no good at inserting images or tables on this site. My apologies. I made this request to Gov in November of last year.
Under the Proportion of Responses, the third column should have a heading 'skip'. For some reason I can't get it to show.

Table 1: Count of responses to the bow hunting question when purchasing a hunting licence, broken down by area of residence based on mailing address information. Data includes 2019/20 hunting licences to date (Nov. 14, 2019).

This data includes hunters who purchased a hunting licence and answered the bow hunting question, and whose residence area is known (the total responses is slightly different from the data provided previously, since there are some hunters whose residence area is unknown). The data is broken down by residence area, and this does not necessarily reflect the area in which the person hunts.

Actually, doesnt it ask something about "hunting with a bow"? Not whether you refer to yourself as a bowhunter or not.
If we support science based decisions, it seems to me this is a fundamental piece of required data.

I just bought my licence online the other day and the question about hunting with a bow is still there and I think it now forces you to answer in order to complete the transaction.

Do you consider a cross bow a bow?

I don't

With the shooting range restricted I might commit to bow full time. I couldn't rifle hunt this fall without any target practice this summer.

I don't

The regulations seem to say a crossbow is a bow.

In British Columbia the cross bow is considered archery tackle and is provided opportunity under bow only seasons. I don't think the online question is about our opinion. It's about our use of archery tackle. And this can lead to Government making better decisions on hunting opportunity or wildlife management.

Interesting info JT thanks for sharing.

Would be nice to see Govt use archery seasons more for wildlife management ie: allowing increased participation for pressured resources without excessive harvest number concerns
