Howdy, got a moose draw for 7-27 this year and i am planning on going up at the start of October. Just wondering if anyone knew how the access is on the west side of the lake heading up from fort st james, gates and stuff like that. Thanks for any input cheers.

Most of the access is good. The indigenous folk have a large sign blocking half road on the west side of Takla. Was there a couple weeks ago.

You bet man. Lots of great area but also lots of hunter. Make sure you have a radio for the logging traffic.

Will do, do you know what channels they use up there?

They are not hauling on on weekends right now. I think the channel going up the leo creek fsr was RR-32 and most if not all roads for industry are now RR channels. However, the main roads are wide and used regularly by many people besides industry so its fairly safe. Good idea to have the RR channels, much easier to find help if you have a break down.

Every logging road has the RR channel at the start and tell you what and when to call. Very little yapping on the RR channels any more.

These help too. I have all of them in my truck radio when we went up there but this gave us an idea of what ones you will need.
