Our group of 4 got a draw for any bull Moose in region 8-12 , October. Sucks but we only got one tag. Guess that means one of us got in on the last tag. Coach got his up there a few years back. Hope to see the one i saw last year while hunting that area. Will be playing around with my 300WSM and testing out some loads later this summer.
cheers!
Best of luck to everyone this fall.

Picked up two bull moose tags between myself my better half and my hunting partner for one of the 5-15 zones for sept 10-30.

will be our first attempt ever at moose, will have boots on the ground every day of the season health permitting, so let’s hope the odds gods are in our favour. I don’t anticipate seeing another moose draw for a long time after this !

We did that one in 2015. We got one in the first few hours, then didn't see another bull. We went Oct 20: a little too late in the season. I suggest getting there last week of September and into early October.

Haven't drawn anything for years & years. Nor has anyone in our group individually. Saw lots of moose last year where we applied and hunt. Even saw an immy when the season wasn't open. Oh well can't win t the lottery either so just have to get used to it. Interesting one person claimed they have gotten moose 3 years in a row. So much for lower odds after the first one.

I wish I had that much time haha. We plan to go last week of Sept & first week of Oct. I am speaking with Srupp though, so I will heed his advice carefully of course! Plus I also have a whitetail anterless tag for 5-1 where my cabin is at Deka Lake. And I hunt waterfowl and have a blacktail honey hole I go to every year as well. So it will be a busy fall/winter for sure!

Awesome! That is our current timing we have planned!! I would love a PM with any other information you might have? Where is a good spot to setup camp? Did you have any Grizz run ins? How was the weather? etc. etc. :)

Gotta say I'm happy for everyone that got a coveted LEH this year! Congrats and may your dreams come true! I'm looking forward to reading the tales here on HBC.

Not to bitch and moan at all but, I've been putting in for a once in many-life-times draw now for decades and if I am every lucky enough to have my name on a ticket then the wait will simply have added to the pure joy I expect it will bring. Yeah AND I'm not nearly as chipper as the above implies about it.

15 years of nothing. And I apply for hunts every year with 1/3 odds or less. Great math. If I was in The Deer Hunter, I could be playing and laughing for decades.

I’m headed for that. Next year I’m putting in for grouse in region 9.

Got the zone D Bison hunt for October 16-31. I've only been hunting for 4 years, and this is my wife's first year. It's going to be an adventure for sure! After reading all of the forum posts I could find on Bison over the years, I have so many questions! Maybe there is someone who would like to come along with payment made in bison?

Haha, good on ya. I've never entered a draw for sheep but coincidentally I rode home via Westside Road yesterday coming back from Okanagan Falls on the motorbike. Didn't see any on the road, but have in the past. I suspect you shouldn't have a problem filling that tag. Let me know if you need a 2nd set of eyes....

My LEH hopefuls got nothing but one of hunting buds got a Rosie draw so I quess we stay on the Island this year.I don't get to shoot one or have a rack in the garage but I will get to go look for one ,help with one and eat one. And who knows perhaps find a Black tail with a big rack.

Moose in 6-30 for my group which we've had before and love a certain campsite we've found. Also goat again in my backyard. I won it last year too but didn't pursue because of surgeries. This year I plan on giving it my all.

We had 6 groups of 4 put in for a local kamloops moose hunt with odds of 35:1. Not one person drew! 4 years in a row! We head North to hunt the GOS moose seasons whenever we don't draw and I enjoy that hunt so no sweat off my back but it just seems crazy!

Me & 2 buddies on the island have been putting in for shared moose & individual elk hunts for a few years. 2018 we got bull moose draw south of Vanderhoof, last year nada. Buddy Rick, the experienced one in our group was instrumental in showing us how to deal with the moose. Funny, he keeps telling me to put in for elk on the island ever since we started hunting together a couple years ago. His logic being that draws typically go to those far away from the hunt..... He's been putting in for LEH elk on the island for 30 years & hasn't won a draw.

Bingo, finally this year I'm successful for an elk LEH on the Island. It'll be me doing the travelling this fall..... Rick calls me a bum now..... all in good humour.

Got the ashnola ram in 8-3. My first sheep hunt, but i hunt with my son who has been on a few and has taken a ram before.Any tips on access to this area would be appreciated, esp since there has been a few fires over the years, I imagine there would be harder access.

I lucked out and my group drew 2 bull moose tags in 3-28B, a draw iv been putting in for the last 10 years. So excited to finally pull this draw. I hunt this area every year but anyone who has any more info on the moose draw would be much appreciated. Good luck to all who drew this year!

Bit of a sad year for me. I couldn't put in for the draws as I'll not be a BC resident come the fall.35 plus years trying for an Island Elk.
Im moving to Alberta on the 3rd of July. We bought 10 acres. Couldn't put in for Alberta draws either as I'm not yet a resident. Oh well prairie whitetail for
me!

No leh here but I got lucky and live in BC so I’ll hunt whatever GOS I want in open season. Shooting a nice 4 pt every year ain’t half bad. Maybe plan an elk hunt. Maybe goat. Will see, for sure a ton of upland and ducks

Where in Alberta? I’ve been looking around, but it’s not much cheaper than BC for the types of property I’m looking at, so not much to be excited about except having a better political climate. I’ve found some great properties around Pincher Creek that we will probably look at in the late summer/early fall as I think my Wyoming and Colorado trip will be off for this year.

Got hunt 0001, 742 zone C Bison. What I just learned was formerly my dream hunt. 2 Bison for our group of 3. I was absolutely blown away until realizing they changed the Zones and theres no motorized access to this zone thats 80 km from the road. Why offer a hunt that has no access to the area? Weve had our hearts ripped out! Hunt of a lifetime pffffft!
