My brother and I were all set to be park hosts at Coldfish Lake for the month of July this year. We have been advised that BC Park will not be opening Coldfish camp this year and that all cabins will be locked.
Lots of issues related to Covid-19 prompted the decision to lock down, particularly the cleaning protocols for outhouses, showers and cabins that would be necessary to meet current standards. Also the availability of Alpine Lakes Air services out of Tatogga Lk could be an issue as the Tatogga Lodge and facilities are being leased by Red Chris mine.

Anyone with a LEH draw planning to fly into Coldfish should be aware of this.

I suggested to the folks at Parks that they should contact those who manage the LEH and Hunting Regs websites and have a notice posted there.

LOL, I love it. That's why Government should always be in an "advisory" position, and not an authoritarian one. You get bizarre outcomes like being able to go to Home Hardware, but not to a boat launch when you have a low number of Bureaucrats making up rules.

You can prepare for that. There shouldn't be anything there to begin with.

I imagine you can still hunt it? Just no fancy lodge to stay at!

Thanks for the heads up.
Is this 6-20-A?

Yes it is 6-20A.
A lot of LEH authorizations for this zone- sheep, goat, caribou and moose.
There are other lakes to fly into in this zone but Coldfish does see quite a few hunters starting in August when the sheep season opens. September also sees a number of parties at Coldfish looking for moose and caribou.

Swampthing is correct- one can still hunt it but the guest cabins and all other buildings will be locked up.
BTW- it is far from fancy- cabins are very rustic- the only amenities are packrats, mice and porcupines. They are a dry and warm place to base out of or to wait for your plane if the weather socks in.

More Covid stupidity. I can imagine you're disappointed about the host position... I've always wanted to do a stint there as host.

That's definitely a bummer. We stayed there a bit last year during the snow storm. Great spot, will be back some time for sure.
