Stuck mounts!

Quick question! I have 2 piece mounts that have been on an old rifle for years and they are stuck hard! one of the mounts the screw head is chewed, the other I got the stud screw out, but that mount is not moving and I don't want to pound on it!..anyone got any good suggestions for removal? I'd appreciate it~

I heard yrs ago a hot soldering iron would help and not bugger any thing else, worth a try.

A manual impact screwdriver to remove the iffy screw(s). Some heat from a heat gun might help loosen whatever is bonding the base to the action.
