Just talked to my friend who went back home to hunt with his brother. His brother won the lottery for one bull elk in that area. Hard work for the whole week and came home with a 7x8. But cuz I didn't have time to chat with him any longer, I guess I had to find a time to go get the details of the hunt and the pix.

Right on, alot of elk are being harvested this season, I myself shot a 8x7 also, and on huntshoot there is probably at least 2-3 more bull down. Good stuff :)

I wonder where exactly he shot it? There are beauty bulls on the coast and most of the big boys we know where they hide.;-)

He's from Powell River, so I think that's not a secret to him either.;) His brother had waited for his lottery for years and had scouted for years!

Nice animal but I think that estimated weight calculation was done after a few wobbly pops.

A lot times photos don't give you the right idea. There is another pic on the rack with my friend's bro sitting right behind and the gun on the rack. That one really stunned me. This bull was a monster, believe me.

beauty bull......thought it was from powell river.....was talking with the wildlife biologist from the coast and he said no big bulls were taken yet in sechelt. Nice job.

What a lot of people fail to realise is the size of a mature Rosie bull....it's not a rocky mountain. Rosies are much much bigger. Our sechelt bull a few years ago was over 900lbs and he was an average bull. We moved one with the relocation project that was almost 1500lbs. 1200lbs for a nice thick mature bull is not out of the question at all.

Again....sweet bull. I am truly jealous.

My friend cut in to get to the higher position to watch the whole slash with his spotting scope while his bro walked along the logging road. They both spotted bulls. My friend saw a nice 5x6 while his bro saw the 7x8, but neither knew there were two bulls with over ten cows.

A friend of mine shot a rag-horn bull just up behind Halfmoon Bay last Thursday.

Hm, ok I know about this hunt. I know the guy on left in the pic. He went up to PR to help his brother on the hunt. His brother had been scouting the elk all summer. He said there was an even bigger one he might have got, but there were too many other hunters in that area so he got this one. Once I get back to town Rick will probably have pics of the hunt. I'd like to see a better close up of the antlers. If I'm lucky maybe he'll trade some elk for buffalo? Anyway from what Rick has told me his brother is an EXTREMELY dedicated hunter and deserves this hunt, basically a once in a lifetime hunt. Well Done!8-)

His bro had scouted for years and knows almost every spot in that area! I wouldn't say it was luck but he really deserves that bull.

Just seen a buddy of mine and he showed me the pics of his six point that he got, didn't even know he had a tag. Said he did'nt tell many people he had the tag so that he would'nt feel pressured to get one or embarrassed if he did'nt. LOL. The second picture he showed me was of a hyab truck from where he worked lifting the bull up out of the slash. Everyone needs one of those. This bull was taken past Duck lake. Glad to see he was successful, maybe next year I'll get a tag. Better not hold my breath. LOL Jim
