Returned a week ago from Hunting in 6-06 , There were not as many moose around as in previous year's luckily I was able to shoot this young Bull on the second day out , When I first spotted him he was about around 1000 yard's away I was able to stalk to within what turned out to be 525 yard's !!!! One shot from the .338 Mag is all it took , Weather was not so good for the entire trip , We had Snow / rain / wind / hail , My partner had a tag as well , we tryied calling in all of our favorite location's and the Bull's would answer but would just not come out like they usually do at that time of the year . Here are a few pictures.

Nice bull. 525 yards with a 338 that's quite a shot. How high did you hold on him with what weight bullet?

Congrats!
I took a moose last year, and next year elk/moose is a priority!

Yeah it was Quite a SHOT , It surprised mw as well as my hunting Partner , I coild not get in any closer the rest of the Cut block was wide open , And the moose was standing at the edge of the timber , There was a strong cross wind as well , I put the cross hair on his nose to allow for the wind and then lifted aprox 12 " the bullet landed at the Base of the neck so approx a 24" drop Give or Take , The Round's are Hand load's that I make my self It's a .225 Grain Nozzler Partition All of the 300 yard shooting Practise i did at the Range this year paid off

best tasting meat I ever had was an immature bull moose. Enjoy those steaks rare with nothing but montreal steak spice!!
