Got back from our moose\deer hunt in 5-15a friday night. We had a shared hunt for two moose and managed to connect on only one of the moose.
The moose really didn't seem to be rutting at all, we saw numerous cows and calves in the first week but no sign of bulls with them or any responses from bulls to our calling.
We covered alot of ground trying to find where the bulls where and thanks to some help from loggers we found out that the bulls seemed to be still up high away from the swamps.
Our plans where to get the moose first and then get out and try to find mulies.Turns out we never really got much time in looking for mulies, although my cousin did miss an opportunity at a beauty four point. We did manage to bag a little two point along the way though.I wanted to hike up into some alpine area to look for mulies but ran out of time.
Nice country and beautiful scenery but it was difficult to hunt as alot of the area was grown up and there wasn't alot of visibility. We did well on the chickens and even got a couple rabbits.Saw three bobcats and the coyotes in the area seem to be numerous. There were a large number of goats spotted looking from the lake we were camped on as well.
Our home away from home, it was very comfortable.14'x24' including a 10' porch\cook house. My cousin went all out on this tent and it was great.

This is the link of the pic of the moose I didn't have my camera at the kill site. The moose was finished with a head shot some might find it graphic so I will put it in as a link.
