1st bear of year down , odd night, bear number 8..... gave me crossbow opportunity, when i fired bow, string broke!!! bear stuck around, wife was with who had never been with for any kill, so my 300WSM made short work of this med guy.Will be good eats and good fun memories !!! Gotta love the wifes hunting attire :shock: hard to focus lol

String broke �� is that a thing? How often does that happen?
Speaking from personal experience, barely touching the string with a broadhead can definitely be detrimental to the string. It didn't break but I sure didn't try to use it until I replaced the string. Mine is an excalibur. By the way nice work on the bear Lightmag.

Tell more about that string that broke on your crossbow like what kind of bow, FPS and where did the string break? By the servings where the trigger latches/Claws hold the string?
Curious to whether its the mechanics of the bow or an outside element that caused the string issue.

barnett predator, 400fps, broke right where it was back of bolt where latch holds string.
