Anybody who has never went turkey hunting in the spring really should give it a try. I used to think that travelling 9 hours south of PG was stupid for just a bird but after I tried it a couple of years ago I've been hooked every spring since. It's exactly the same as hunting for big bull elk and every bit as exciting. It's also family friendly too with some effort. I've been taking my son since he was 2 years old and I simply push him in a jogger stroller or he rides in the truck. Brady loves to be involved with the calling and setting out the decoys and watching turkey hunting on WILDTV in the off-season for tips. I have hunted and been successfu on almost all of the species BC has to offer ( excluding Van. Isl.) and turkey hunting is by far the most fun. Here's a photo of my uncle with my son with said stroller.

Yeah its a lot of fun....A word of advice, don't go hunting them like grouse; aka driving the roads with a .22 hoping to see one wandering around and shoot him in the head. Although this can be exciting in its own right, there's nothing like calling one in, especially to decoys. The birds are very vocal and its tons of fun. The first year I went I just wandered around and only saw one legal bird. A couple of years later after lots of research and practice at calling, my uncle and I had 11 toms within killing range this spring in 5 days. If anybody has not went and is interested I would be glad to offer advice.
