I’m curious how many guys have shot game mid day? And what species and what time of year? For myself I’ve always had my best luck for bears mid day both in March and especially in September, moose I’ve also had better mid morning luck. Whitetail for me has mostly been first hour and last hour of legal light. Then there is the rut. Might be a good way for us hunters to compare notes.. do you believe in the full moon? Something other than doom and gloom coronavirus talk!

Around here there isn’t a March bear season where you have had your best luck mid-day (but polar bears rut in March).

Whitetails first and last light like you said, though still-hunting I've had some luck mid day...mulies the same...bear more luck for me afternoon/evening..

I seem to see and shoot a lot of bucks between first light and 11 am.

Let’s see, last muley I shot was first light, last elk was at about 8:30 in the morning, last moose I shot was at about 11:30 am in November, and the last bear I shot was close to last light.

Last moose was just before last light but all the moose before that were the first couple of hours of daylight. No real pattern for deer, muley or white-tail, but I don't hunt early season, when I would expect more success at dawn or dusk.

I read a biologists report on collared deer .It stated there was no difference in deer movement during a full moon.
I find the app on the gps is pretty accurate as far as animal movement.

I often like to sit from dawn to dusk for deer. Shot several deer mid day including my biggest blacktail and 2nd biggest whitetail. Also taken a few mid day bears and seen many more.

The more time you spent hunting the better your chances. While certain times may be more productive, you just never know what made an Animal move and when you get a chance.

I have shot deer mid day, which doesn't mean I see most deer during mid day.

For me both in fishing and hunting, first light has always been most productive.

In my opinion first light is always the best. I have killed my three biggest mule deer bucks late November between 10 am and noon.
Moose and whitetail have almost always been before 9 am. The last 30 minutes of daylight have also produced whitetail.

Almost all the moose were 8:30-11 am, deer would have been morning or late afternoon, no elk yet!

Bears are lazy, they dont have anything bothering them and they arent hiding from anything, they just like to sleep and eat. I dont even get up early to bear hunt, rarely make it out before 9 am but mid day is always good. Deer I prefer first or last light but have shot a few mid day to one oclock of course during the rut.

Looking back at the last 10 or so moose, it’s pretty much 50/50 mornings and evenings.

I find that the weater is a big factor on game movement ,,cold ,,warm and rain play a big facter on game movement as for the moon faze..

I’ve shot game in most weather I love windy days for moose , swirling winds seems to confuse their noses but when it comes to deer in the heavier wind they all but evaporate from the landscape . Only ever shot one mulie buck in high winds.

You can't hunt during the middle of the day, there's no deer. Ever. Nor Moose. You guys should all pack up and sit in camp. Definitely.

Bears always early am until 10:30am and last 4 hours in the evening with the last hour being the best for me in the spring. April1-June 15 on Vancouver island. Fall I see them at all times of the day. Deer I find on the island anyway legal light and about and hour after to be the best. And then last hour of legal light. And of course at 4 am driving to my spot they’re littering the road. Grouse I go first light on the logging road, 12 noon (for their noon gravel) and late afternoon/ dusk rabbits definitely early am and late day. Elk I have never hunted but usually see them in the first and last hour of legal light. Ducks/geese first light but I’ve never had much luck.
