Painting scope rings

I have a silver scope and the rings I want to use only come in black I’m looking for any tips on painting scope rings

Color the scope so it does not stand out. Nothing like a silver scope you can spot a klick or two away. However, it your hunting gear is brilliant orange, leave it as it is and place the rings on a 1" dowel and paint away.

Keep the rings, sell the scope...:)

Spray flat black then do a couple coats of semi gloss automotive clear coat.

Painted a stainless rifle barrel that way and looks good.

Be sure to wipe down with electrical cleaner or some such, so the oil is removed , even finger print oil.
