I'm pretty sure that this is the Ram in question from the other post. Shot in the Chilcotin about a week or so ago. Don't know the measurements, but do personally know both hunters in on the hunt.

NIce Ram but the sad thing is that the trophy pics are not what they could be. Kinda sad if thats the best pics of the #1 ram in the world. Eastmans have some great tips for trophy photos. eg. tucking the legs, displaying the antlers/horns in the sky to accent them, cleaning the blood, sewing the blood etc.

That is the most amazing animal I have seen taken in this province! Kudos to the hunters!! And i agree, the photos are awsome, my feelings are that perfectly posed pictures take away some of the rawness of the moment.

Saw the first plant of Cali Bighorns in Churn Creek canyon near Gang Ranch. Looks like "easy" country where this one was bagged. Beats dropping one off a cliff onto the rock slides at 5000 feet (in the snow)
A trophy for a lifetime. Please leave the rest for us. Quit now. Go Home.

that is a nice ram no doubt. I went and dug up some pics of the "Bert Grinder ram" and to me the grinder ram looks bigger. But the tape doesn't lie. Grinder ram 191 3/8. i love these old pics. Really nice to have. Also have a few pics of the Park ram in at 189 and change. Can you believe that he would sell the that ram (Grinder ram) for 500 bucks and an old spotting scope.

Not sure it's entered yet, though I doubt it'll be in #1 spot, as B&C doesn't recognize Cali's as seperate from RM's.

Hahahahaha, if'n you knew the whole story behind that ram ending up in the above picture, you wouldn't need to ask that question....

From a legal stand point though, everything about that ram is above board; for those that might be wondering.

Nope...

The local big buck contest were kinda interesting last January though, as both the sheep and shooter were present. Pretty funny seeing the look on buddies face as guy after guy pressed him for details about the "hunt".

It's an awsome "once in a lifetime" trophy no doubt, but having to look at that mount daily on the wall, knowing what you did to obtain it, would be too much for my conscience.

I'm funny that way though.........

12-24-2009, 03:36 PM
Sorry guys, I'm not going to go into detail on what transpired on the hunt. Those who know what happened can speak for themselves, if they wish, and I'll leave it at that.

Bottom line is the ram was harvested legally, by a resident hunter.

My guess is that Buddy #1 spent time and located this ram, then Buddy #2 who was along to "help out" shot the ram out from under him.

Close?
