Hey there new huntbc member and new spring bear hunter here.

How’s the bear population up Chehalis Lake area looking? I really want to get out for spring bear this year but don’t often have the ability to go further away out of Region 2. Have done a bunch of 4x4 exploring up there and have seen quite a few roads that are now only accessible by foot either because of washouts or gates, and l don’t mind going for a good long walk/hike l would actually prefer it. Would these be good roads to check out for bear or is going up there at all a huge waste of time for hunting?
Also have a few ideas for up East Harrison but Chehalis is far closer

Thank you very Much!

I've seen lots of black bears up there. Also heard 3 bears roaring at each other right at dark one night. Sounded like bear threesome was about to go down. I shot at and missed a bear up there.

always consider the weight of a bear for pack out on hike in hunts.

No shortage of bears up in that area.
Even better if you drive up along Harrison and access Chehalis Lake from the north side.

Isn't there a lot of traffic up in that area? I heard that place is busy AF

Seems like it would be busy there

Arguably, that's the case for all places close enough to Vancouver one can reach after work.... Big difference between Weekdays and weekends, though
