A few days post return from chasing Mountain Goats in North Coastal BC and thought I'd share a couple pictures.

The hunt was filmed and I'll be sharing the story on the Beyond The Kill podcast, which I will post links to in this thread as they come available.

This is my first personal Billy and one that will be etched in my memory forever... not sure I'll be able to look at another early season goat again.

On another note, if anyone has some pictures of some nice lifesize bedded goats, please post them or send them over. Looking for ideas on bringing this guy back to life.

Congrats guys on a serious hunt. Even better being your first billy and a hog at that.
Ha I don’t hunt Aug goats for the same reason.
What’s he age at?

Thanks man! He's definitely a special goat. The capes are just as much a trophy as other aspects of these late season goats.

He's getting CI'd tomorrow but have had a few very experienced people look him over and most concur he's 7. Was almost 10" at 4 years old.. pretty crazy.

Hopefully the CI doesn’t come up with any, er, funny numbers lol but at 7 it should be very straight forward.
That growth is nuts! Always amazes when ya first put the glass on those coastal goats. On the flip side I’ve shot some R4 goats at 10+ years that barely or won’t make 9” ha.

Congrats again, looking forward to the video.

Congrats on a beauty of a goat, any chance you could share some green numbers. My buddy shot one quit a few years ago in the EK that was
10 2/8s and was 4 years old, it had some great genetics, shot last day of season and great hair and had monted pretty much same as the one
posted except leg is hanging over more. Just wondering if you want to shaow of the great late cape why not standing to show the socks off
better. Guessing want him laying down as that may be how he was when taken, Looking forward to the video.

Quick measurements were 10 7/8 on the long side, 10 3/8 on the side that knicked alittle bit. I believe if I remember correct he was 5 6/8 or 7/8 on both his bases. I should have the full green measurement in the next few days.

When we spotted him he was bedded atop a massive cliff face and just made me think of the king a top his castle looking over his kingdom, which is exactly how I want to remember this guy when I look at him... if that makes sense?

Haha have had that question a few times. That isnt my personal rifle, it's a model that was sent up to be photographed. They're a sweet rifle though and from the sounds of it, Precision Optic has a few on order that should be here in the not to distant future if you're looking to get your hands on one!

Nice. 51 4/8" ranks you tied for #195 in the BC record book.

Thanks for coming back to update on the score. Wish more people would do that.

haha bingo, Ray did that piece!

I bought it last year through the WSSBC Auction, Ray had donated it a life size credit. It was about $4K. I think normally this would have been about a $6K piece
