Another great day fishing

4 more lake trout to share between 3 families. 38 lbs in total. I want to smoke some if it warms up enough. Fished from 7:30am till 3:30 pm. But it was worth it. I caught the two biggest(chest swelled up) and my betterhalf caught the other two. LIG

Google videos on ice fishing for lake trout. Then spend $1000 of dollars on stuff.

Are they good eating?

The 7lb to 12lb lake trout are the best eating. I have yet to smoke one. They are rich in oil and fat so they smoke very well. I have smoked 100's of pounds of other fish in the past 20 years, just not lake trout.
I rate them in the top 5 fresh water fish.

Now I need some manual downriggers to go after them in the summer.

This is unfortunate... if you block him would he not be able to pm you and you wouldnt be able to see him comment on threads or at all ? Im not sure how that works . Unfortunatly this is why i do not post successes anymore either. Some cant read the regulations and jump to speculations/allegations right away . Being a successfull hunter/fisherman and sharing stories can be great untill the jelous come out . Your a poacher for catching lake trout of any size in an anysize lake . I am a poacher for harvesting large 4 point mule deer in 4 point season. We know whats what and thats all that matters .. good on ya for the great successes . I dont blame you if you dont xontinue to post them . Great job nice fish
