As a BC resident hunter, I'm looking for some help on learning the Alberta draw program and strategy.
I just renewed my WIN card for another 5 years after doing nothing with the program in the first 5.
What should I be doing, as I want to plan hunts (mulie/elk/whitetail/birds) in the next 5 years.
Would love to hear your experienced thoughts - thanks

Do you have family or friends in Alberta?
Get them to put you in for draws.
You have to hunt with a resident.

I do as a matter of fact. My step son is in Grande Prairie as of last year. He's new to Alberta so we both are trying to get educated.
Thanks for the input Dave.

You will have to have your stepson put you in with him on his draws.....simple as that, Mid June.

This.
What are you planning on hunting? Not all draws are open for non res and there's some over the counter tags for non res available.

You'll be looking at a 12 year wait for antelope and depending where you want to hunt it can be 4-5 years for moose in the Grande Prairie area. Seems to be a 9 year priority for mule deer in the gp area.
