4th pic looks like some sort of merganser if i see it correctly

we just called them fish ducks and never shot or ate them

if it needed a runway to take off or land (diver ducks) we did not shoot we only shot puddle ducks

I think I’m convinced it is a hooded merganser hen, thanks dak0ta. The black feet was a throw off but it’s a really neat looking bird.

Every duck I put down goes on a plate CranePete. I have a great Soy Sauce Duck recipe for gals like these.

that bird is protected under the urasi-africa-northamercisn migratory birds act.. enforcment comes beyond federal it is a united nations bmigratory bird act... last guy got caught with two he was fined 250k and spent a year in jail.

Hen Hooded Merganser. Yes they do eat fish but their diet is more vegetation and the ones I’ve shot were not a problem to eat.

hen red breasted merganser,,,,,,its the mid range of the merganser family in north america,,,,,,,,,largest is common merganser,,,,,,red breasted merganser,,,,and the smallest and prettiest of the 3 in my opinion is the hooded merganser

dark feet so female hooded i think..common has orangy/red feet from the pics i looked at
