While I was stalking, my left leather boot developed a squeak that it never had before. Anybody have any tips for quieting down leather that squeaks?

when all else fails I try:

1) WD-40 (has 1000's of uses according to their website - NASA loves the stuff)
or
2) duct tape

Use Dubbin or oil on a well warmed boot so it soaks in.

Neats foot oil. It's made to soften leather without stretching it. It's good on boots, saddles, harnesses, baseball gloves, etc.

I recently bought some Danner Jackals- they are designed for stalking, yet sturdy enough to spend the day in- they are sweet.

Had the same problem with a pair of Rocky's I have. I use 'Sno-seal' for waterproofing and just apply it liberally all over the front side of the tongue. That's were mine was rubbing against the inside of the upper and causing the squeek.
Candle was will work in a pinch too I'm sure.

Thanks for all the advice, I got some oil and I'll give them a good going over. Now WD-40... honestly will that work? Is there anything you can't do with WD-40?

After 2 years of service my right boot started squeaking. It has completely stopped now. I dont know if I just worked it out or if the bear fat had something to do with it, but its been 2 years w/o squeaking now.
