Has anybody had poor customer service from Wanstalls and/or Browning? Asking for a friend.

Placed an order to purchase from them a few years back and was jerked around saying “it’s not here yet, try back in a couple weeks”. My 10 day order turned into 3 months, so I went to another shop for purchase.(which only took a week) Never will buy from them again. (Not Browning)

My whole family dealt with the original owners, Art and Dick, even becoming friends and neighbours
up at Bridge Lake with Art. Because of our patronage, we often got good deals...not so with Wanstall.
Had such a poor attitude we all never continued our business with that store...mind you, that was many
years ago.

might be the way you phrased your original question. For myself and my brother we’ve always had great customer service from Wanstalls, and for browning concerns I’ve only gone to reliable gun because they were the listed browning repair center and they were also great, but that’s not what you were asking ��

I had a great experience with Browning. Got my X-Bolt SS Stalker on sale when Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters was closing stores. Did not realize that front sling eyelet was missing so I phoned Browning Canada (East Canada I think in Quebec) and got eyelet shipped no question asked.
After getting it I noticed that SS eyelet is more like chrome and one on XBolt was more shiny so I phoned again and got another type shipped. They have slightly different version of SS parts.

I have made several purchases from Wanstalls. I have not made any in past few years so things may have changed. I had to return one firearm as it had some cosmetic flaws. I was treated great and everything was taken care of with absolutely no headaches.

Have always received excellent, speedy service and never a problem.

They are aimed more towards the mall ninja type but I’ve had good dealings with them in the past.

Great service and great prices - no issues ever. They have also special ordered rare items for me without issue.
I own a number of Browning firearms over the last 40 years and have never had an issue with any of them so can't speak to after sales service as none has ever been required.

No problems with Wanstalls, I've bought my Bino's and several rifles / shotguns from them, great service and I would recommend them.

I had one poor experience out of many. I now drive the xtra to reliable guns. Even though realiable never answers their phone.

Bought a rifle and a couple scopes from them, mail order, no issues. Probably would buy more from them but they don't carry Coopers and Ruger #1's. With the Black Friday Sales coming up I had better get the wife to hide my credit cards.

I've been to Wanstalls once or twice in person and bought online maybe half a dozen times. I don't recall anything negative, just regular retail shopping experience. I don't think I have had to deal with Browning directly for anything.

Personally, I will deal with Reliable.
John and Shane are great guys (forget the 3rd brothers name??).
Always treat me well.
Always get what I need and even get a nice little price break at times.

I have no issues with Italian either, but for me, if someone treats me well, I stick with them!
Reliable for me.

Have made a number of purchases there over the years. The 2 Craigs (owners) and Matt (manager) are the go to guys. They do everything but are more shooter oriented than strictly hunting. Have only had good experiences there.

Haven't had any issues with the 3 Browning rifles that I own.

Wanstalls has a special place in my heart because as a new hunter not long ago, I purchased online my first rifle (CZ .22lr) along with rifle scope, range finder & binos.
I took advantage of a sale they were having and dealing with web store support was also good.

I have always found Wanstalls to be extremely helpful and I have never had a problem with any of my purchases over many years.
Matt has gone the extra mile for me on more than one occassion.

I ordered a Browning Xbolt compact in .243. After 18 (yes 18 )months I was continually told it was a Browning issue and there were none in Canada. I called Reliable and they had two in stock. Was on the range with it the next day. Wanstalls did refund my deposit with no issues. Great place to purchase if you want something they have in stock...I'd hesitate in ordering anything online. Reliable has become my go to store in the LMD.

Both times were a headache. Both times I was given bad info/ trying to be steered into a silly purchase.
