Lots of Widgeon around!

Things were quiet for a week but went out yesterday and there were some big flocks of widgeon around and some better mallards too. Next week or two will see a bigger migration of mallards, looking forward to it!
Had Nathan and Warren out yesterday, great guys to share a blind with, Nathan tried out my old Browning A5 and shot it great. He decided to take it home.....

Yep. Got us a bunch. Very tasty - prolly the best eating. They are strict vegetarian and the flavour of the meat is affected. No bugs and slugs in their diet.

Some huge mallard hens this year too. Dog dragged one back like a goose. Most have been stuffed with corn...

Got a widgeon last week. it was pretty tasty. I need more as it was rather small
