Opening Weekend

We had our best ever opening weekend, limit of ducks every morning and 17 geese the first day and 12 the next! Chris shot his first ever Snow! Last year we shot 5 snows, first time ever for us (don't hunt the foreshore).
Seems to be a lot of Mallards around, hope you guys got into them too!

Buddy Chris's dog, I was told he's a GWP/DD cross but we usually tell guys GWP. A real stud, handles ducks and big geese like a champ and loves being out there!

They have a little more heft to them than a griff,,,,,strong dogs, but besides using mine for hunting, I also wanted a bird dog who would fit comfortably in the front of my 9' fly fishing pram.

I'm surprised that it's got DD in him because they have such stringent breeding rules to keep their genetics in line. Have heard you might get put to death if you deviate from the rules set forth to the owners of DDs. haha Looks like a great dog! Just a larger facsimile of mine of my griff.

Great shooting! I'm going to try Wildfowling for the first time around Brunswick Point in Delta. I don't have a boat or a dog but just bought chest waders. Will they be sufficient to retrieve the birds? Thanks in advance.

Great to see your post Ken!
Heard the marsh is far removed from when we were there 10-15 years ago. I hear there may have been someone up there shooting a .22 at ducks last weekend,... I didn’t go last year and only 2 times the year before. We are fortunate to have 5 good fields to move around on now!
