This blacktail showed up first thing this morning, was nice to get on the board. Upon further inspection things appeared to be a bit out of place. A first for me.

Have heard of this before, also with blacktails. There used to be a book on the Island for scores over 100 and there was one listed in there as a doe with antlers.

Good thing you took that mutant out of the gene pool. It will be a good eating deer.
Guy shot a moose near Horsefly with horns and an udder 2 years ago.

Thats why tags say antlered or antlerless not buck or doe. I remember reading about does with antlers in whitetail populations in the US and its a surprisingly high number.

The old “hermy”. I’ve never seen a blacktail hermy with that much antler. Good one!

The bases and times look to have been rubbing trees. Why would it rub trees?

This is (was) a confused deer. I wonder if dropped it's first set of antlers - if there was a first set?

I wonder if this had bred?

Nice one.

Odd indeed. Not unheard of, but pretty darn rare.

Congrats on the harvest. You seem to be able to pull it off consistently. Your BT game is strong.

No reason for high stress that I can think of, other than me poking around the area.
