I'm getting conflicting reports, I've been told both the night vision scopes are prohibited and. Not prohibited at the same time I've been told thermal scopes (https://bobergarms.com/thermal-scope/) are all good. Any clarifications on this?

You can use them at range, but ranges are not open in dark, you can not hunt dark so what good are they on your rifle? Your profile says NY why are you asking in a BC hunting site if that is true?

Thermal scopes I think are good. Would probably help in tracking at dark. Leupold makes them. Expensive though.

I've shot at night shoots at ranges.....

I don't see why a guy couldn't use a thermal scope to protect livestock either

I almost bought a thermal about a year and a half ago. It was $3700 plus tax.
I would have, but it took time to warm up, and then it refreshed every 15 seconds.

I figured a guy would need to spend way more to have something that wouldn't be frustrating to use.
