Check out this weird elk antler.
Genetic or due to injury in velvet??

People looking at the antlers?

I was wondering why its body is shaped like a tree.

I got the strangest feeling when I saw this pic, swear to you I had a dream about that bull a few nights back
couldnt figure out why I’d dream about such a strange looking antler, not even kidding
rather curious too because I’m camped within roughly an hour of your location

Certainly can't say with certainty (other than to say it is a unique, interesting form). My best reckoning is to say injury to the opposite side of body the unique antler growth is on.

In the area we were hunting our elk we had a six point (one side) with a similar spike up front and a corkscrew spike down his neck.

Is that pic from 2001?

LPC member, wearing boneface. I'm sure he's changed his ways and is now embarrassed and repentant.

I would say he had an injury to his pedicle, which then caused abnormal growth

Sort of like an ingrown toe nail there, isn't it.
Hard to know if it was a "one of", this season and next year all good again or if it has permanent defect?
