I wrote a thread last year about seeing a 2 point moose and not having a tag,I was wondering how many of you guys have been out during hunting season and seen a nice animal but had no tag for it?I would like to hear about your experiences.:-P

Lots of Bobcats! Thanks for the reminder I guess I should go out and get one.. Do they charge you xtra when you need a new book for more tags?Probably seems like a silly question but I never needed more than one before!

they will just staple extra tags onto your booklet, no extra cost:p.

Seen nice moose in a moose closed area and some nice cougars over the years, but I don't want to shoot a cougar.

actually how about this one I was hunting in region 3 when I first started hunting and was not aware of the buck season that begins in oct,I watched a 3 by 3 deer for about 10 minutes assuming it had to be 4 point or better.I still kick myself

not that I can recall, maybe with black bear once...

I always get all the tags, cuz you just never know what is around the bend or over the hill.

Happened with bears lots when I was young, wasn't interested in really shooting one though, might aswell have a tag in the book, right off the bat, a bear a moose a muley and a whitetail, its only 150 bucks or so

Was visiting in Creston and went for a little drive, hoping to pick-up an easy WT. It happened to be the opening of Elk but I had no intention of heading up to where all the horse trailers were parked.

So stopping for a pee break overlooking a low cut-block I picked-up the sound of some amateur playing with an elk bugle nearby. To my surprise the real thing came trotting out chasing some lose cows. A decent 6x6 and no tag.

Last friday in 8-10 out looking for deer on an old trail I happened across. Stumbled about 50m from the biggest bull moose I've ever seen in person. Scared the moose, moose scared my buddy and I, dang thing was the size of a draft horse, and left prints in the snow about 7" dia. no foolin'. Lotto only, no lotto.:(

2 years ago I took my uncle out to an area to look for deer near Prince George. He thought I had a white-tail tag but unknown to him I had shot one the week before. While we were waiting a GIANT white-tail stepped out into the field at about 50m and was totally oblivious to our presence. Meanwhile I was waiting for my Uncle to shoot him and he was waiting for me to. I finally whispered "are you going to shoot or not?" he tells me he thought I had a tag for whitetails so he didn't buy one, I told him I used mine. The deer slowly walks away, shootable at least 10 times. I'm sure that he would have been one of the biggest if not the biggest white-tail taken in Prince that year! I glimpsed him at first light last year, and hopefully he's alive this season.

Only things that were on LEH. I have a habit of buying pretty much every tag I can.

I've always filled my tag book to the max for the areas I hunt, so I've never been out of luck in that sense. However, I have been tagged out when other opportunities presented themselves. Like the time I was headed to the meat locker on day 2 of the elk season with my raghorn 4x5 in the truck and a 300 class 6x6 stood on the edge of the road and looked at me for a couple of minutes. Or when I dumped a 2 point muley in with a group of does and the BIG 4 point bounces out from behind some brush after the shot. :?

Saw a black bear last season. Had no tag, but it had cubs with it. So guess I couldn't shoot it anyways. But damn, was it big. I estimated it at around 7 ish feet. give or take.
