My father was out deer hunting in 3-18 and they ran into full curl and 3/4 bighorn. Are sheep able to swim across the Thompson river or would these animals be newer transplants? This areas is 30 miles from a bridge and we have never seen sheep there before. Thanks for the insight.

We've seen the odd sheep on the southside of the Thompson as well......I guess they do swim ? Or perhaps cross during winter when it's mostly frozen ?

I Have Also Heard They May Swim The Fraser Around French Bar. From A Local Rancher.

9 Years ago 23 sheep went across the bridge at spences and worked there way up to the Indian reserve by the water pump stations..
There is a ram there that will go 175-180ish....No open season..
I will try and find my picture of the big boy,I got a shot of him last year..
