Curious to see what everyone uses for shot size on turkey.

I shoot a 20ga typically for snowshoe hare i use #4 and all grouse i use #6.

Would #4 on the 20ga or 12 ga work for turkey or is a larger load better.

I would probably use 4s if taking head shots. I use 7 1/2s with my 20 ga. for grouse, though.

The thing to do is see how your gun patterns with different chokes, shot and ranges I personally like # 2s but then that's what my scattergun(SA08 20) shoots best. Good luck have fun

The “industry standard” is #4 to #6. As Foxton said, buy a few boxes in that range and patern your gun.

I shoot a 12 gauge mossberg 835 with a Winchester XR Turkey load 3" #5, choke is a Carlson's meant for that load & shotgun. Dropped my turkey this year at 40 yards through thick ass brush
