I don’t know if the extended deadline will make a difference, but I won’t get too excited for results before the third or fourth week of June.

Doesn't make sense to me with it all online they can't release the results an hour after deadline...the only thing I can think is there's behind the scenes political issues holding stuff up...

I'm emailing them asking for an extension. One week is not enough to decide for my Region 5 draws, plus I've been super busy and my computer is slow. I hope you will all join me in calling an emailing asking for an extension until sometime late July :D Gives me and others more time to put in for draws that other people wanted that I'll just apply for and probably won't even hunt... plus it gets the government more money which is always a good thing j/k

They usually have to go through a witness process and that is why it takes so long. They get it verified that they didn't cheat and no one was drawn with any bias.... I don't know if they witness each draw or do a witness for each species. With the time it takes them to turn results around, I would say it is for each draw.

I sure hope that things have changed. It used to be not entirely above board. My dad (1980's) was hunting for deer in November in the Gang Ranch area. He ran into a CO who was hunting as well. The CO was hunting for sheep. The CO asked my dad for his license, etc, and all was fine. My dad (newer to hunting then) asked the CO how he got a tag, as it was closed. The CO said that he had a LEH authorization. My dad said great, next year he'd fill out for one as well. The CO told him not to bother. He said, and I quote, "Do you really think that we just give these tags out to anybody?!" My dad took him seriously, and the CO didn't hint at all about joking. Maybe he was, but he knew that his joke was taken literally. Then, in the 90's, my parents ran a bed-and-breakfast. We had a lady staying with us for a few weeks as she had some meetings in regards to the ministry of wildlife. Knowing that we were hunters, she offered us a LEH bison hunt. My dad said no. It wasn't until much later on that I understood why he said no.

Rumour has it the province is still haggling with FN over Region 5 allocation to sporties and GO's... I suspect the draw will be later this year as a result. I would not be surprised if they announce all regions except 5, which will a month later, (unless a big fat 'zero' for whitey...)

The site was down for an hour or so with a similar message last year. When it was back up, the LEH results were available. It wasn’t on a weekend though.

Also, just as a reminder, last year the govt BC Hunting website was bunged up for hrs with thousands trying to log in. If that happens again, log in through bceid.ca and once logged in, navigate to the hunting sections and you will find your results there.

I won I won I won I won, the guess when the draw will be Yippeeee. Well not sure I really guessed, but I did agree that it would be today. Also need to make sure that the freezer is ready to receive some fresh shipments come fall..... Better give Urs a call and tell him that he won't be getting my house as a flight deposit this fall.....
