I am looking at both units(Se desc of 76csx below describes what it has over the plus) the plus one is used and am guessing the SIRF receiver is a huge bonus but (on the 76csx) am wondering about the card slot lacking on the plus. Is this more a conveinence thing and you can just pop in a card with the map source data as opposed to having to down load it off a CD. I am guessing it may give you more software storage options as well but do you actually use it??. Any tips, I really need a new GPS my is on the fritz and am trying to save a few bucks but want the electronic compass, color and mapsource. Anyone else use the electronic compass, does it work well or will I still be checking everything with my own compass.
thanks folks for any advice

I have the 76csx, and absolutely love it, have the entire topo Canada map for BC loaded on it, with the exception of the lower mainland and Van Is. All on a 256 mb card. If you like me, tend to save all your tracks, I will run out of memory after about 4 days a packin. So will need to remove some of the maps or get a bigger card. The 76cs would would never allow so much data capture with such a huge mapbase loaded. You can load maps onto a card and pop them into the unit on the without running back to a computer. For the few extra dollars, get the csx you will absolutely love it. As for the compass, I dont use it, not because it doest work, more because it has to be recalibrated every time you move locations more than a 100 km or so. After all it is electronic. My silva ranger is really cheap on batteries too. The 76csx lasts about 2 full days of constant tracking on a pair of AA bats.
